Indian Village students work with National Guard

Indian Village fifth-grade students will travel to the Fort Wayne Air National Guard base on Mondays and Tuesdays for the month of October and the first Monday and Tuesday of November to participate in the STARBASE program. STARBASE is sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs and brings innovative and challenging "hands-on, mind-on" science, technology, engineering and math opportunities to fifth-graders across the region.

With nearly 31,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is Indiana's largest school district. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 51 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level.
