Harris students visit pumpkin farm
Record Number: 9127 Displayed from: Oct 1 2012 12:00AM, until: Oct 5 2012 12:00AMSpecial Education classes from Harris Elementary will visit Kurtz Pumking Farm and attend "pumpkin school", Friday, Oct. 5, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Students will learn how pumpkins grow from seed to full grown pumpkin. They will also learn about fall, how vegtables grow and are harvested and about different types of gourds and pumpkins. Afterward, they will go on a hayride, and each student will pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. This trip gives the classes community exposure and a chance to learn appropriate behavior in a public setting.
