Haley students participate in bean-eating contest

In an effort to encourage students to try the new healthy lunches being served in all FWCS cafeterias, students at Haley Elementary are participating in a bean-eating contest Wednesday, Oct. 17. Students who eat at least a portion of the baked beans served will receive dried beans. At the end of the lunch period, the classroom with the most dried beans wins the contest and will receive brownies made with black beans. Throughout the lunch periods, students will learn why beans are important to the diet as a source of protein and fiber.
