HSE classes offered daily at multiple sites. Classes are free!  Testing fees for HSE/TASC is $90 (cash only.)  Individual subject testing for HSE is $18 (cash only.)  Textbook fees (refundable) vary by course.

How & When to register for a Continuing Education class: HSE & HSC Course Information

  • Academic Registration: Orientation held continuously- contact 467-1060 for next sign up.
  • Graduation for HSE Students:  March, 2020 7:00 pm. at Northside High School, reception from 6:00-6:45 pm

Need to complete your High School Credits?

  • FWCS Students:  You must obtain a Continuing Education Enrollment Referral Form from your high school guidance office, with a listing of specific classes required (transcripts.)
  • High School Credit subjects offered: English 9-12, General Math,Geometry 1&2,Pre-Algebra 1&2, Algebra 1&2,Advanced Algebra 3&4, World History 1&2, U.S. History 1&2, Government, Biology 1&2, Chemistry 1, Earth Science 1&2, ECA Prep, Economics, Environmental Science 1, Physics 1, Sociology, World Geography and Health.
  • Non-FWCS Students:  You must provide our office with your Official Academic High School Transcript.
  • High School Credit Classes:  $20 per class for FWCS Student.  $90 per class for non-FWCS students.

Pay by Cash, Money Order, Certified Check, MasterCard or VISA! Registration for Continuing Education classes are made at the Continuing Education office at the Bill C. Anthis Center, 1200 S. Barr Street. Payment of class fees and any book, supply or material fees is due at time of registration.

Continuing Education offers High Quality Classes at a Low Price! Our fees are as low as operating expenses will permit. The lower fee for non-high school graduates is possible because of State reimbursement for courses meeting Adult Education requirements for high school diploma completion.

Continuing Education and Indiana Department of Workforce Development

FWCS Adult and Continuing Education Program offers High Value Technical Certification classes for eligible students enrolled in the Adult Education program or through NextLevelJobs.org.  Students can obtain their HSE and start classes to develop their skills in a Technical Certification program.  Some of the certifications offered:  MIG Welding,  Certified Business Professional, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Patient Access Care, Para Professional, Child Development Associate (CDA) and more.  Contact Adult Continuing Education 260-467-1072.


*Refund Policy for Certification Programs: 100% refund if cancel 3 days prior to classes commencing.  No Refunds available once classes have begun.

Neighborhood Connection Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)  Program

The Certified Nurse Assistant , CNA program consists of:  40 hours of classroom instruction at Parkview Education Center, followed by 75 hours of clinical instruction at an assisted living or long-term care facility. The certification test will be scheduled within one month of completion of clinical training. Class fee: $2022.00*. Some program requirements entail additional cost to the student. An Indiana State criminal history check, tuberculosis test/readings, and general physical examination are required. Details provided at registration. Approximate additional required out of pocket cost to student: $100-$150.

*Students enrolled in an FWCS Continuing Education program may be eligible to attend the CNA program at no cost to them.  Please call 260-467-1072 or 467-1075 to enroll in a Continuing Education program class.

Child Development Associate, CDA

The Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education (ECE) and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in ECE.  Earn your CDA at FWCS Adult Continuing Education.  Call for details, 260-460-1060 or 260-467-1072.   • How do I get a brochure? Our brochures are mailed out to 9 zip codes, if you do not receive a brochure in your mailbox, you may pick one up at Bill C. Anthis Center, 1200 S. Barr Street or any public library branch. You may view the electronic brochure on this webpage. Please feel free to contact our office at 467-1075 to request a copy be mailed to you.
  • We highly recommend not waiting until the last minute to register for any class due to classes filling quickly.  All classes have a deadline for signup, however, if there are openings you may register with payment up to the day a class starts.
  • What are your hours?
    We’re open Monday through Friday, 9am - 4pm. Summer and holiday hours may vary. Please contact our office for other hours at 260-467-1075
  • How do I find a school?

  • Do I have to be a resident of Fort Wayne to take a class?
    No. Anyone from anywhere may take a Neighborhood Connection, no extra charge.
  • Can my child attend an adult class?
    Children may not attend an adult class. Sometimes exceptions can be made when the child is accompanied by a registered adult but must be cleared through our office first.
  • I’m over 60, is there a discount?
    Yes! Take $5 off any class fee.  You will need to input your DOB on the online sign up page.
  • If I register online how will I receive confirmation? You will be e-mailed a confirmation receipt which will include all class information including the classroom assignment and supply list if required. Please print this receipt and save it for your records, you will not receive a receipt via US Mail.
  • How do I get information and/or register for an online course? On the Neighborhood Connection web page click on Online Classes. From there you can browse all the online classes our program offers. Don’t be afraid to search for course information, you will not be registered for a course until you enter your payment method. You must use online registration for all online classes.
  • What if I can’t make it to class? Can I get a refund?

  • What about parking?
    Adequate parking is provided in large, lighted lots conveniently located adjacent to the schools.
  • Can I teach a class?
