2023-24 FWCS School Choice Lottery Returns In-person

FWCS parents who submitted a school choice lottery application by the Jan. 13 deadline are invited to the School Choice Lottery in-person at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Wendy Y. Robinson Family and Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Ave.  

The lottery will be held for schools and grade levels that had more applicants than space available. Parents who attend in-person will be able to learn right away if their child was selected for their preferred school. Those unable to attend in-person will receive the results of the lottery on the MyFWCS Parent Portal on Friday, Feb. 3.

 Parents will need to accept or decline their student’s lottery award online via the myFWCS portal by Friday, March 3. A student birth certificate and parent/guardian ID will be required to complete registration for any student new to FWCS.

 

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
