Northcrest teachers and staff invite fourth- and fifth-grade students and families to participate in a Title I Family Night beginning at 6:00 pm. Students and families will participate in activities and receive instructions and resources to support their child’s academic success. Activities will be based on Jeff Kinney books and provide an opportunity to extend reading and writing lessons and practice from the classroom to the home. The evening will close with an art walk and a musical program.

Haley Elementary is hosting a skating night at 6 p.m. at Bell’s Skating in New Haven. The theme is Flashlight Night! Bring your flashlight.

The Shambaugh PTA meets at 6 p.m. in the staff lounge. Parents and staff are welcome to attend and share ideas.

Scott Academy students in grades K-5 will participate in JA In A Day. Volunteers will visit the school to teach the students about business and economics.

Shambaugh students will show their school spirit by wearing Shambaugh shirts and enjoying popcorn for Shambaugh’s Popcorn and Spirit Day.

Shambaugh will sell Candy Grams Feb. 7-14. Students may purchase a Candy Gram to give to other students and staff in the building.

Harris Elementary fifth-grade students will attend JA Biztown at 9:15 a.m. to learn how to run a business.

Harris kindergarten students will travel to the Helen P. Brown Natatorium at 9:30 a.m. for swim lessons. During the six-week program, students will learn proper water and swimming safety.

Irwin Elementary will have Popcorn Day on Jan. 30. For 50 cents a bag, students can bring home a bag of yummy, buttery popcorn for a great after school snack and support the PTA!

More than 250 science fair projects will be on display from grades K-5. Students are invited to attend the open house with their families from 5-7 p.m. so that they can view all projects and see which projects won the top prizes. The PTA will also be hosting a pizza night in the STEM Lab for families to eat dinner at school or to take a pizza home with them.

Haley Elementary families are invited to the Super Bowl Math Night at 4:30 p.m. The Title I event is for families to attend with their students in grades K-5

Haley Elementary families are invited to the Dino-Mite Stomp, Chomp and Read event at 4 p.m. The event is a school-wide Title I event to promote reading within the family.

Haley Elementary School is having a fundraiser to support students and families in need. Proceeds from this event will support purchasing items such as clothing, food and household needs, as well as promoting positive behavior in our school. The event is open to the community from 3-9 p.m. at Chuck E. Cheese. Simply mention Haley Elementary School and 20% of the proceeds will come back to Haley to support our students.

Harris second-grade students will visit the Fort Wayne Museum of Art at 9:30 a.m. to observe various art exhibits to expand their understanding of art history.
