Fort Wayne Community Schools allows students and parents to choose among a wide variety of educational learning opportunities at our 51 schools. We offer eight magnet programs, including focuses on the fine arts, math and science, communications and the Montessori philosophy. We also have neighborhood schools with special programs, such as Franke Park, a NASA Explorer School, Brentwood, a Latin Grammar School, and Lindley, which is a member of the International Spanish Academies program for Spanish Immersion Schools.
Our high schools offer specialized Programs of Study. North Side offers specialty courses in world languages and global studies. Northrop has expanded its involvement in Project Lead the Way's engineering program, and Snider has added Project Lead the Way's biomedical and health sciences curriculum. South Side continues to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Programme, and Wayne High School is now home to New Tech High, a program that focuses on teaching students by replicating a real-world environment.
FWCS has strengthened its programs, from full-day kindergarten through high school graduation to ensure all of our students are challenged at every grade and realize that what they learn in the classroom is relevant to their futures, whether they want to be a doctor, a teacher or an aviation mechanic.
